The Blue Suede King

Richard Butler reenacts the stylings of Elvis Presley through voice, music, movement and charisma performing songs spanning decades including the ‘50’s Hillbilly Cat era, the movies of the ‘60’s, the ‘68 Comeback Special and the slick Las Vegas ‘70’s. He offers interactive family entertainment that is both educational and amusing as he guides his audience through his “Elvis Odyssey.” Mr. Butler has performed at Harrah’s and The Stardust in Las Vegas as well as in casinos throughout the Southwest but concentrates his efforts in his home of Tucson, Arizona. He has produced, directed and starred in a number of performances at local venues. Companies including Coca-Cola, Raytheon, Liz Claiborne, and Chanel have utilized his talents for lively party functions.

Rich has also graciously contributed his time and talents to perform for numerous benefits including The United Way, Children’s Hospital, Multiple Myeloma Foundation, Special Olympics, and the American Cancer Society. Rich appears in a documentary based on Elvis impersonators entitled “Almost Elvis” and is listed in the publication, Elvis and You, as a southwest Elvis performer. In 2002, Rich had the honor of performing at the Elvis Extravaganza in Laughlin with the legendary Jordanaires. In 2003, he celebrated Elvis’ birthday by performing on the television show Good Morning Tucson on ABC. In her article, The Unassuming King of Tucson, Bonnie Henry of the Arizona Daily Star writes, “Watch what happens when you stick Rich Butler in a jumpsuit and hand him a microphone… Butler does a right credible Elvis – with all the right moves and tunes…” He continues to appear on stages, theaters, and clubs for those appreciating high-energy family entertainment!
